Fallible Geometries (Bucky Ball)

Marcia Teusink is an American artist based in London whose work addresses issues of impermanence and the everyday. Teusink is fascinated with the way that time, weather and the immutable forces of nature can return the rigid geometries of human creation to softer, more organic forms; conversely, how more perfect forms can grow out of disorder and decay. She explores the interplay between order and disorder through her use of different media, including painting, drawing, printmaking and found objects. Teusink frequently collaborates with other artists on site-specific pieces and community-based arts projects.
Having received a BA in English Literature, University of California (1993), Teusink went on to gain a MFA in Visual Arts, City University of New York (1997) and a MA in Museums and Gallery Education at the Institute of Education, London (2011). Teusink has fifteen years' experience of teaching art in museums and schools in the US and Europe, and along with Michelle Prazak, co-founded Draw London in 2009.
